LOCH LOMOND AND THE TROSSACHS

Hire a campervan and visit Loch Lomond which is an easy 2 hour drive from Edinburgh. a good stop off point for your Scottish Roadtrip while heading further up the Highlands. With so much to see and do you could easily spend 2 or 3 days in the area alone.

Set up camp below the 21 Munros (mountains higher than 3,000 feet), 19 Corbetts (mountains between 2,500 and 3,000 feet), 22 large lochs, 50 rivers and two forest parks, within the boundaries of loch lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

This vast loch of Loch Lomond is the largest in Great Britain by surface area, it is a popular visitor attraction for locals and tourists alike. Loch Lomond is one of Scotland’s premier boating and water sports venues, with visitors enjoying activities including kayaking, Canadian canoeing, paddle boarding, wake boarding, water skiing and wake surfing.

Scottish National Park Activities

Activities such as walking, cycling, mountaineering, golf and horse riding, The mountain areas such as the Arrochar Alps attract many visitors to participate in mountaineering.

Luss is a lovely conservation village and has some fine churches and charming streets. It’s possible to take a sail on Loch Lomond from here and do watersports. Luss also has an annual Highland Games event which is most definitely worth watching.

Experience the traditional Scottish hospitality and enjoy Scotland’s most famous drink, whisky, by visiting a distillery such as the Glengoyne Distillery.

Dedicated Visitor Centre

Want to get the best out of your time in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park? Stop off at a Visitor Information Centre where the friendly staff will be on hand to help you out with all the essential information you need or visit their dedicated website, which is packed full of helpful information.

Between March and September local byelaws are in place in some areas of the park and you will require a permit to wild camp or stay overnight in motorhomes and campervans in affected areas as it can become busy in Summer months.
