Below we have added some of the most common questions we get asked when renting a Campervan from us.

What is the Covid-19 Cancellation Policy for Campervan Hire?
If you are unable to travel due to updated restrictions, government guidelines or self isolating we will 100% refund your booking fee.
Is Drivers Insurance Cover included in the price of Campervan Hire?
Yes, all of our Campervans include your drivers insurance cover as standard, there is no requirement for you to organise your own cover or additional extra cover.
How many miles can we travel in campervan? Is there a mileage allowance when hiring a Campervan?
All of our Campervans include Unlimited Mileage as standard, so you are able to explore and enjoy your road trip without worry about what mileage you have used!
How much do we have to pay upfront as a Booking Deposit to secure our dates in our Campervan Rental?
You can currently reserve and secure your chosen dates for only 10% of your reservation.
The remainder of the booking fee is not due until 2 weeks prior to your departure date.
How do I book and pay for a Campervan?
You can book and pay for your campervan via our Booking System, we also take payments via bank transfer, paypal and cash.
What is included in the price of our Camper Van Hire?

Can there be two registered drivers when hiring a Campervan?
Yes, you can add an additional driver. A daily fee of £8 will be added to cover additional insurance costs.
What additional extras are available?
We have a selection of optional extras, from adding an additional driver to adding a bike rack.

Is there enhanced insurance cover available?
Yes we have options available to upgrade your coverage for extra peace of mind.

What identification do we need to provide to be insured to drive a Campervan or Motorhome?
We will contact you to request all documentation required (full details) which you will be able to email to us at info@albacampers.com
All Personal documentation is held securely in line with GDPR regulations.
We will request the following;
2 x proof of address verification dated within the last 12 weeks of departure. (this address must match your Drivers Licence address)
1 x ID verification (Passport, Photocard Drivers Licence)
1 x Copy of Driving Licence for all drivers (This can also work for ID verification if it is a Photocard)

Can younger drivers be insured to drive Campervans?
Yes our self drive hire insurance policy can cover those aged 21 and over. See our Driver Requirements page for full details.
How to get to Alba Campers / Directions?
We are located just outside Edinburgh City Centre, you can get a direct bus straight to us, a taxi / uber or organise for us to collect you. Further details of directions and transport options can be found here.
What Campervan Options are available?
We currently have several different types of Camper Vans available, you are able to see our campervans here.
Can we travel throughout the UK with Campervan?
Yes, our insurance and roadside assistance cover is UK wide.
What is the Earliest pick-up times or Latest drop-off times for our Campervan?
We try to be as flexible as possible with collection and return times. Let us know your preferred times and we will do our best to make ourselves available.
We would kindly ask if you are expecting to be late or even early, just give us a quick message so we can be ready for you.
Do the Campervans come with Roadside Assistance and Breakdown cover?
Yes, all of our Campervans are covered by our Roadside Assistance policy. The optional extra ‘Liability Reduction’ will ensure any additional costs added by the Roadside Assistance call out will be taken care of.
Can we take a Campervan on a ferry over to Ireland or one of the Scottish Islands etc?
Yes, no problem at all.
Please note, you may have to book your ferry crossing in advance.
Is their a toilet in the Campervan?
No, there is no toilet inside the vehicle, however we do have portable toilets and also portable privacy cubicles which you can add to your reservation.
Do you do group discount if we were hiring two or more Campervans at the same time?
Yes we can certainly offer you some kind of discount, this will also depend on the length of stay also. Contact Us with details and we will get back to you.
Is there a minimum hire duration for Campervan or Motorhome rental?
Yes, generally our minimum hire length is 3 days, this does include weekends.
Are you open weekends? Can we Collect or Return on a Saturday or Sunday?
Yes we are open 7 days a week.
How much is it to rent a Campervan per day?
During the Summer months it is between £80 to £100 per day depending on which Campervan you choose.
During the off season, prices can be as low as £50 per day.
Is there an extra cost for hiring Campervan over weekends or special events and holidays?
No, our prices are the same regardless or what days of the week you choose.
Our prices only change between seasons and you will get the most cost efficient trip between the months of November to March.
Are the Campervans easy to use?
Yes, on collection we will give you a full walk around and anwser any questions. Our Automatic Campervans are Simple and Clean, making them very user friendly.
Do you have Automatic Transmission Campervans in Scotland?
Yes, all of our Campervans are Automatic Transmission. This makes driving much more enjoyable as many customers are accustomed to driving on the other side of the road and having an Automatic Campervan makes the transition easier.
How old do you have to be to hire a Campervan or Motorhome?
We can organise Drivers Insurance cover for those aged 21 or over.
What if we have a problem with our Campervan or Motorhome during a trip?
All of our Campervans have Comprehensive Breakdown cover should you require it. We are also available to contact to help troubleshoot problems during your roadtrip.
Can we leave our own vehicle with you when we collect our Campervan or Motorhome?
Yes, you are able to leave your vehicle with us.
